Article by BJ Valla

The Motorola Droid 3 smart phone is loaded with special features including a GPS to aid navigation. This is an excellent feature for every driver who spends hours every day in their car, but of course trying to make use of this while driving is not only difficult and dangerous, but mostly illegal in the US. The Motorola Droid 3 Vehicle Mount is produced for this very task.

With the full name Motorola 89496N Droid 3 Vehicle Dock with Rapid Vehicle Charger, it is more easily known as the Droid 3 Vehicle Mount and provides a safe, legal and simple way to make use of the GPS and other features of the smart phone.

The Droid 3 Vehicle Mount is custom-built for the Droid 3 smart phone and therefore is a safe and snug fit, to hold the phone securely and avoid damage. A power connection is provided and audio can be played through the car’s stereo system wherever there is a 3.5 mm audio jack. Incoming calls are received more clearly with the phone docked; with reduced noise and echo control a major advantage. GPS navigation and music can be enjoyed fully with this useful accessory. All the user’s favorite applications can be displayed on one screen for easy access, by personalizing the Droid 3 screen.

The Droid 3 Vehicle Mount can be fixed either on the windshield or dashboard of a car thanks to the two separate mounts included with the unit. Each connects with a powerful suction cup and features a ball-joint swivel for more accurate positioning. Also included with the unit are; a rapid in-vehicle charger, a 3.5 mm jack 5 foot audio cable, as well as power and audio USB cables. Total hands-free use is possible due to the voice commands capability, while the unique ESP technology will recognize the phone being docked and will change the screen for access to in-vehicle applications.

The Motorola Droid 3 smart phone is another excellent product from this innovative company and the range of Droid 3 accessories perfectly complement this already application-loaded phone. Among the range of accessories; the Droid 3 Vehicle Mount is one of the most useful in today’s vehicle-oriented society. The fast pace of life, both business and personal, is helped along by the use of mobile phones and in particular smart phones. However it is necessary to stay safe on the roads and the Droid 3 Vehicle Mount is designed with just this purpose in mind, and definitely more than lives up to expectations.

Android Power Users, Meet the Motorola Droid Bionic

Article by John Parks

While Apple excluded Verizon from carrying the iPhone for nearly four years, Motorola has treated Verizon and its customers to a seemingly unending procession of high-end mobile smartphones based on Google’s Android mobile operating system. Motorola continues its legacy of providing next-generation, high-end phones with its Droid Bionic device.

Most users familiar with Verizon’s lineup of Droid phones will immediately think of the Droid Bionic as the successor to Motorola’s wildly popular Droid X. That device introduced Verizon users to a large and impressive 4.3-inch screen and a 1GHz Snapdragon processor that handled graphics-intensive gaming and rapid-fire emailing with equal speed and grace. The Droid Bionic builds on this legacy, shipping with a similar 4.3-inch screen and a host of speed-boosting features that will blow users’ hair back.

Droid Bionic is the first Motorola smartphone for Verizon to support the carrier’s new 4G LTE network. This new data network can handle speeds that are up to five times faster than Verizon’s older 3G network, as well as some features only seen on other carriers, such as simultaneous voice and data service. The options for 4G smartphones are limitless, from higher quality streaming audio and video to video calling and conferencing.

And, speaking of video calling, the Motorola Droid Bionic ships with a front facing camera that makes it perfect for doing just that. A host of applications, from Skype to Qik, are already available to take advantage of this feature and it’s one of the hottest trends in this year’s smartphones. It also features an 8-megapixel camera on the back of the device for mobile snapshots, and shoots impressive 720p high definition video.

Shooting HD video and video conferencing with friends can be a processor-intensive task, and the Droid Bionic comes prepared with one of the first mobile dual core processors on the market. Clocking in at 1GHz and accompanied by an impressive 512 megabytes of RAM, this process can multitask and it ensures that no single task will turn the phone into a slow, lagging paperweight.

The rest of the phone’s features, while impressive, are quite standard add-ons in the Android smartphone sphere. It supports 8.11b/g/n WiFi and data tethering via USB, Bluetooth, or a portable WiFi hotspot. It comes with a large mAh battery, which will help power, its speedy dual core processor; and it features built-in GPS like most smartphones currently available.

The Droid Bionic is a truly mind-blowing device that holds laptop-like power within its small 4.3″ casing. It’s the perfect device for Android power users who take advantage of the operating system’s true multi-tasking; it’s also a great choice for mobile gaming enthusiasts, as its dual core processor ensures that lag will be minimal — if not entirely absent. With its large screen, it’s great for intensive emailing and web browsing. Text is large and readable, and the device’s screen has great contrast for ultimate readability.

With all of these improvements, combined with Verizon’s cutting-edge 4G network, there is really no reason not to pick up a Droid Bionic upon its eventual release. It will be the Android phone to beat for some time to come.

Motorola Droid Bionic – Review And Specifications

Getting a Motorola Droid Bionic should make you do the oohs and aahs if you like a super nice screen. This is also one of the larger smartphones that Motorola makes, so here is hoping you have big ( and perhaps deep ) pockets. Get more information on the new Motorola Droid Bionic smartphone here in this quick article.

The main event for this smartphone is the display. Motorola pulled out the stops and tried to make a smartphone with a screen to equal the iPhone 4. They almost did it. The retina display of the Apple iPhone 4 has a resolution of 640 by 960 pixels. The Motorola Droid Bionic has a resolution of 540 by 960, but it is necessary to factor in the extra size of the display on the Motorola. The difference is not much, but it is enough for those who can not settle for second best. Motorola created a new name for the resolution of their Bionic screen, they called it QHD.
The features for the display on the Motorola Droid Bionic smartphone are awash with the whole nine yards. The list is; proximity sensor, accelerometer, swype input method, touch sensitive buttons and of course multi touch. All smartphones in the upper realms of price are going to have multi touch these days, so some do not consider this a feature anymore. The display is crafted from LCD, not the brighter and greener AMOLED style. AMOLED uses less battery juice, and therefore is more ecologically friendly.

While Motorola put a 1 gigahertz NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual core processor in this smartphone, they were not the first to do so. LG has their LG Optimus 2X already out with a dual core processor. The Tegra 2 is used in both smartphones and tablets. The memory accompanying the chip is typical Motorola. There is 16 gigabytes of internal memory and 512 megabytes of RAM. You can add to that with a MicroSD card, up to 32 gigabytes worth. No MicroSD card is included with the Motorola Droid Bionic.

The Motorola Droid Bionic can handle plenty of wireless channels, but some of them are missing. The GPRS and EDGE are not included, but it really does not matter. The Bionic can handle 4G LTE. This is around ten time faster than 3G networks. It also comes with all the flavors of Wi-Fi. The Wi-Fi also features the DLNA transmitter that sends multimedia to a nearby ( in the room ) monitor or high definition television. No more cables are needed to watch high definition video or graphics. Just in case you did want to use a cable, an HDMI connector is included. The smartphone will output video at up to 1080p format.

That means that the camera must be pretty good on the Motorola Droid Bionic, right ? Right ! It ranks up there with the better ones, at eight megapixels of power. It has many of the features that a photographer would need, inluding face detection. Look for the Bionic to run Android and come with a very large battery.
