New Android Os To Arrive In April

Comments Off

Rumours are flying that Googles mobile operating system; Android updated version will be out as soon as April. Version 2.3 introduced an improved user interface to Android, as well as updating the systems maps to include more efficiently downloading. It was closely followed, however, by Honeycomb, Googles operating system that was specifically optimised for tablets, which will be launched first on Motorolas forthcoming Xoom model.
Google has made conflicting announcements on whether or not Honeycomb would actually be used for smartphones as well as tablets. According to reports emanating from US it appear to suggest that a new version of Android, 2.4, will be necessary to allow smartphones to take advantage of features that will be important to Honeycomb.
Reports are also conflicting on whether 2.4 will have a new name, such as Ice Cream or Ice Cream Sandwich, or still be called Gingerbread. Android 2.3, codenamed Gingerbread, was only announced before Christmas. Version 2.4 will integrate new features from Googles tablet computers. Upgrading the version will also, it is likely, cut down on the amount of coding that developers will need to do to make their apps work on both tablets and smartphones.
It is expected to provide a new set of developer APIs that allow developers to create apps optimized for a tablet experience. It includes a major makeover of the Android home screen, offers the concept of code fragments that developers can use to make apps optimized for both tablets and smartphones as well as for different screen orientations, includes a robust new 3D visual rendering system, offers updated music and video capabilities, and includes support for dual core processors. While some of the new features and interfaces seem pretty iterative of Apple’s work with iOS on the iPad, some are also unique and offer functionality beyond the iPad.” Visit My Website : http://wanarua.com

Android OS- The Smart Choice

Computers and desktops are now being replaced by smartphones. The tasks that you expect from a laptop or desktop can easily be done by a smartphone. ‘Operating system’ is the most important part of a smartphone to do such complicated tasks. Android OS by Google was a solution to the smartphone operating system. Android app developers develop application for Android OS mobile phones.

The task of appointing an expert Android developer is not an easy task. There are thousands outsourcing companies and from that group you need to choose the right company that suits your requirements. Professional Android application development is multifaceted science. Android developer conceives the Concept of the game or application as their first step towards Android development. The developer should decide whether the app concept will be taken by Android users.

Whether the current needs of the user are met? Whether any similar kind of apps are available in the market? Professional and expert Android app developers should have answers to the questions before going for the application development process.

As a developer yourself, think aesthetically pleasing app. Think about the user’s perspective first. Accepting the app in the first case depends upon the ease with which the user can access the app because market rejects the app which is hard to use. People do not have time to spend for the set up of the app, so the applications must be user friendly and easy to use.

The Android application development services that you can avail from Google Android developers incorporate all the dimensions of development including data storage and its restoration, security and permission along with id and tags of the users, resource of symbols, notifications and background services, UI techniques, navigation, browser, short messaging system service, 3D graphics, quick search box, contacts management, advanced Bluetooth API, games, other graphics, etc.

Open Source- It is yet another feature that makes Android Development so popular in the smartphone industry.

It does not have that many regulations for a developer when it comes to app development as compared to other smartphone platforms. These features have made Android application development the preferred smartphone platform to have to get edge over the competition. asthegirlturns.com, brookscavalier.com, valuetail.com, jemangebio.com

WebOS vs Android

Comments Off

Many early adopters of smartphone technology were blown away by the Palm Pre; it was a showcase of smartphone technology, and many of those same early adopters lauded its crisp feel and elegant presentation.

Fast forward to the present: Android and iPhone now dominate the smartphone arena, and webOS has been lagging behind in that arena somewhat severely. HP’s new TouchPad, however, is a tablet that uses a new, revamped version of webOS that promises to be a true contender to the Android operating system. Is webOS a viable contender to Android in the tablet arena?

For the most part – yes! The webOS interface is very slick and smooth, and it has the same responsiveness that the Palm Pre did those years ago. Many of the problems that the earlier webOS versions had, like unstable multitasking, have been rectified for this latest incarnation of the operating system.

The operating system also feels very optimized for the tablet form factor, a problem that continues to plague Android tablets running 2.1 or 2.2 (though, to be fair, Google has stated that those Android versions are not intended for tablet use).

It does, however, fare very well against Honeycomb, Google’s own Android version designed for tablets; the two operating systems are more or less neck and neck in terms of speed, feel of use, and overall usability.

Where webOS is going to have a problem, however, is the number of apps available for the platform. Android’s app catalog blows away webOS’ app catalog; at last count, Android’s app numbers extended into the hundreds of thousands, while webOS’ numbers are more in the tens of thousands. It is a deficit caused by the lack of adoption surrounding webOS, true, but it is a deficit that will have to be faced by anyone looking to buy a webOS-based tablet in the future. Quite simply, the sheer amount of Android apps available are a huge value-add for the operating system.

This isn’t an insurmountable advantage. Android had the same problem when it squared off against iOS. webOS is a very usable system, and with some effort and savvy marketing HP and other webOS backers could perhaps sway some developers to their side. It is, however, a problem that the webOS community needs to tackle smartly; at the moment webOS isn’t as chock-full of apps, and users know it.

Other than that, webOS is a pretty worthy contender to Android. HP’s TouchPad seems to be a pretty strong contender and is a great showcase of the webOS operating system itself. If webOS can boost app count and gain some market share, they could be a viable third tablet OS joining the fray; at the moment, however, Android maintains a slight advantage. If we had to declare a winner, we would have to crown Android – for now, at least! asthegirlturns.com, brookscavalier.com, valuetail.com, jemangebio.com

Brits are Europe’s top smartphone shoppers

Brits are Europe’s top smartphone shoppers

UK consumers will spend £4.5 billion shopping on their smartphone handsets in 2012, according to new research from Kelkoo. And this is not people paying money for mobile phone deals, but people making purchases through their smartphones.

A study by the price comparison service found that shopping on devices like Apple’s iPhone 4S and handsets running Google’s Android operating system will increase by 53% over the next 12 months, making Brits the most prolific mobile shoppers in Europe for the third year running.

Germany, which is enjoying considerably better economic fortunes than the UK, is expected to see just £2.7 billion spent on smartphone handsets this year, while the French will part with £1.9 billion while shopping online. Just £0.7 billion was spent by consumers shopping on their smartphones in the UK in 2010, representing growth of 584% in just two years.

Mobile shopping is expected to account for nearly 8% of all online sales this year, up from 5.9% in 2011 and 0.5% the previous year. Total online sales are forecast to rise by some 14%, driven in no small part by the spread of smartphone usage. In Poland, mobile shopping will account for just 4.1% of all online sales this year, while in France the figure is expected to be 4.6%.

The rise in popularity of mobile shopping is a result of the increasing use of smartphones. Some 46% of mobile phone users owned a smartphone device last year. There are an estimated 24.6 million smartphones currently in the UK – up from virtually zero in 2005, according to the Kelkoo study.

Last year, British consumers spent some £3 billion on their iPhones, BlackBerrys and Android-driven handsets – the equivalent of £192 each on average. Italian smartphone users spent an average of just £23 per person on their handsets last year, while those in Spain only forked out £43 electronically using their phones.

Average sales per smartphone user across the whole of Europe were £99 last year, with Brits spending the most, followed by countries including Norway (£160), Sweden (£147), and Denmark (£143).

Chris Simpson, CMO Kelkoo, comments: “Over the last two years, shopping on mobile phones has increased exponentially as a result of simple and secure payment systems, better functionality and increased uptake of ‘always on’ mobile devices such as iPads and tablets.
